Both these Ford and GMC trucks offer you multiple engine options and a capable performance. Below, you can check out how these engine options and the performance compares.

There are six different engine options available in the Ford F-150. The base engine is a 3.3-liter V6 engine that gives you 290-horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. You also have a turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 that gives you 325-horsepower and a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 that gives you 250-horsepower. Then, there are two versions of the turbocharged 3.5-liter V6; the first gives you 375-horsepower, and the second is a high-output option that gives you 450-horsepower. Your final engine option is a 5.0-liter V8 engine that gives you 395-horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.

The Ford F-150 is impressive when it comes to towing and hauling; this truck can give you up to a 13,200-pound towing capacity and a 3,270-pound payload capacity.

There are five different engine options in the GMC Sierra 1500. There is a base 285-horsepower 4.3-liter V6 engine, a 310-horsepower 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, a 277-horsepower 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine, and two V8 engine options. The first V8 engine is a 5.3-liter V8 engine that gives you 355-horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The second engine option is a 6.2-liter V8 engine that gives you 420-horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

When this truck is properly equipped, the GMC Sierra can tow up to 12,100 pounds, and it has a 2,240-pound payload capacity.

As you can see, both of these trucks are capable. The Ford F-150 offers you slightly better towing capacity and payload capacity overall, but the GMC is still a great option for performance.

Exterior

When you talk about the exterior of a truck, there are plenty of features like style and color that can differ from truck to truck, but the biggest difference would be the bed size and hauling capability. With the Ford F-150, you have three bed length options: 5 feet 6 inches, 6 feet 6 inches, and 8 feet. You can get a maximum of a 3,270-pound payload capacity with your Ford F-150 truck bed.

The GMC Sierra 1500 has three different bed lengths available to you. This vehicle has a short bed that comes in a 5 feet 8 inches, a medium bed at 6 feet 6 inches, and a long bed at 8 feet. For the greatest payload capacity, you would want to choose the long bed, and you would get up to 2,240 pounds of payload capacity.

Interior and Technology

On the inside of the Ford F-150, you can find seating for three to six people, depending on the cab option that you choose. This vehicle gives you standard cloth upholstery, but there are available options like leather upholstery, heated seats, ventilated seats, and a heated steering wheel.

When it comes to technology, the base Ford F-150 offers you the SYNC 3 infotainment system standard. You also have available upgrades like an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a navigation system, and a Bang & Olufsen audio system.

The Sierra 1500 also offers you seating for three to six, depending on the cab. This vehicle gives you standard cloth upholstery and a standard rear seat reminder. There are available options like leather upholstery, heated seats, ventilated seats, and a heated steering wheel.

In terms of standard technology, the GMC Sierra gives you an infotainment system, a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth standard. You also have available features like wireless device charging, an 8-inch touchscreen, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a navigation system, and a premium Bose audio system.

Both of these trucks offer you nice interiors with plenty of technology features. The GMC Sierra 1500 offers you a few more technology features on the base model than the Ford F-150.

Safety

The Ford F-150 also offers you a lot of standard safety features. These safety features will look out for you, and they could help to prevent a potential collision. Standard safety features on the F-150 include a rearview camera with dynamic hitch assistance, pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. There are also available safety features that you will have to upgrade for. These available features include blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, driver drowsiness monitoring, lane keep assist, and active park assist.

The GMC Sierra 1500 also offers you a few standard safety features like a rearview camera and the Teen Driver safety system. However, for the rest of the safety features, you have to upgrade and pay more. These available safety features include options like adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, pedestrian detection, a head up display, rear cross traffic alert, a safety alert seat, and parking sensors.

Both of these vehicles offer you some good safety technology. The Ford F-150 does offer you a few more standard features.
