One of Concord’s local gems is the School of Art at the historic Kimball-Jenkins estate. Our staff at Tim’s Truck Capital and Auto Sales enjoys visiting the galleries and beautiful grounds at the estate.
The School of Art
The School of Art teaches more than 1,300 students every year. They also sponsor an Art Camp each year for the younger people in our community.
Several buildings on the estate now provide space for art studios and classrooms for drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, woodworking, glass and sculpture. Additionally, the Mansion and the one-time carriage house provide the main galleries where visitors can view an on-going series of exhibits of works from regional and national artists.
Programs
In addition to the wide variety of class offerings, The #KimballJenkinsEstate and The Mill Brook Gallery and Sculpture Garden host a Wednesday Wisdom series on the second Wednesday of each month. Each month, a different speaker is invited to speak to area residents and visitors. This is a potluck and BYO (wine, beer or other drinks).
Facility Rental

John Kimball settled this property ten years before the American Revolution. For the next six generations the Kimballs built a series of homes and outbuildings. “The Mansion” was built in 1877-1882. With its ornate woodwork, marble fireplaces and frescoed ceilings, this home is an outstanding example of Victorian architecture.

Free Opening Day Festivities and Heifer Parade
Saturday, May 6, 2017 Opening Day celebrates the return of the spring to the Village pastures with a parade of heifers to their first spring grass. Maypole dancing, food, outdoor barn dancing and make-your-own head wreaths and May cards will be available throughout the day. Heifer Parade activities run from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. with the parade beginning at approximately at 11 a.m. Self-guided exhibits are open. Guided tours are available for $10 per person at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
The Shakers
Canterbury Shaker Village, established in 1792, was the seventh community formed by followers of founder Mother Ann Lee. The Village has operated exclusively as a museum since 1992 when the last Shaker sister in residence, Ethel Hudson, died. The few remaining Shakers live at the Shaker Village in Sabbathday Lake, Maine. At its height of the movement in the 1850s, 300 people lived and worked in over 100 buildings on 3,000 acres at Canterbury Shaker Village.

2009 Tahoe SUV – Practical, Stylish and Comfortable
Some of the winning elements of the #2009Tahoe are its spacious, well-designed cabin, V-8 power, good maneuverability and serious truck capability. The Tahoe is available in LS, LT, LTZ and Hybrid models, in either 2WD or 4WD. All Tahoe models are built on GM’s full-size SUV platform that incorporates features such as a fully boxed frame, coil-over-shock front suspension and rack-and-pinion steering. StabiliTrak stability control, ABS, traction control, and curtain airbags for all rows can be found on every trim level.
Performance
The 2009 features a Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed transmission that was standard on all Tahoe models with the Vortec 5.3-liter V-8 and 6.2-liter V-8 engines. This transmission reduces fuel use and makes for a quieter ride. The new Vortec 6.2-liter engine produces 395 horsepower and 417 lb-ft of torque, and can be found on LTZ models.
The smaller 4.8-liter, 295 horsepower engine is paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. All engines feature fuel-saving cylinder deactivation. The Tahoe Hybrid is also available. It uses GM’s patented two-mode hybrid system that improves fuel economy in city driving by 50-percent.
Interior & Technology
The base interior is practical and functional. If you’re looking for a more upscale interior, the LTZ looks like the interior of a premium German sedan. The switchgear is easy to use and works well. The first two rows are exceptionally comfortable.
The LTZ features luxuries such as heated and cooled 12-way memory seats and perforated, leather-trimmed seating surfaces.
